The Association of Insurance Companies in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Croatian Insurance Bureau, on October 17, 2018, conducted an workshop for staff members of the Association for the application of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) in insurance business operations. The lecturer at the educational workshop was Bruno Đurašević, the head of the Working Group for GDPR at the Croatian Insurance Bureau (HUO), engaged in the implementation of GDPR in the business processes of the insurer, and Uniqa osiguranje Croatia employee on compliance tracking activities.
More than thirty participants from 15 insurance companies and the B&H Insurance Agency, the Green Card Bureau, and Insurance Supervisory Agency of Federation B&H heard an interesting presentation that covered the experiences of croatian insurance companies and HUO working groups regarding the application of the Regulation came into force on May 25 this year. At the beginning of the workshop, Đurašević said something more about the principles of personal data processing, their type, the legality of processing personal data and the data processing information document (IOOP), and then introduced the participants with the rights of respondents, the roles of the data protection officer and said something more about GAP analysis, internal data processing acts, records of processing activities, as well as processing obligations, and procedures related to personal data breaches, the transfer of personal data to third countries and the assessment of the effect on data protection. The workshop was successfully concluded through exchange of opinions and answers to the questions and dilemmas that came from insurance companies – members of the Association of Insurance Companies in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina
